Elin Hughes, a potter based at the edge of Dartmoor in South West England. Her practice, rooted in curiosity for atmospheric firing, transforms porcelain and stoneware into functional objects that carry the trace of their making. Through wood and gas firings, she explores flame marks, slip, and subtle brush and finger traces to create gentle variations and depth. Her work combines soft forms with repetitive patterns, inviting warmth, groundedness, and intimacy, reflecting a dialogue between tradition, process, and attentive observation of material.
