3 Day Porcelain Handbuilding Masterclass with Kiho Kang

Kiho Kang makes functional geometric vessels and objects by coil building and pinching each piece slowly, step by step. This rhythmic method led him to a more deliberate way of working with the material, giving each piece a special haptic quality. He deepened his practice in South Korea and Westerwald, where he developed a unique approach to contemporary ceramics, using traditional techniques with a refined sensibility, clarity, and precision.

Throughout the workshop, participants will be guided through the process of making a unique object, such as a teapot or vase. Participants will create functional geometric vessels and objects through coil building and pinching, developing each piece slowly, step by step, while gaining a deeper understanding of material, form, and technique.
